Our Story

The Gruenberger Family Cabin appropriately named Waldesruh (peace in the woods), by our mother and Oma Elfriede was purchased in 1968 by Lothar and Elfriede Gruenberger.   It was their dream to retire there and they spent every free moment during the summer at the cabin.   Tragically Elfriede's life ended much too soon, before they could live out their retirement dream.   Our father and Opa Lothar, lived for many more years and it was his wish that the cabin remain in the family to be used and enjoyed for generations to come.

The cabin is now collectively owned and maintained by the family Thomas, Michael, Kurt, Scotty, Derek, Loren, Kristin, Christopher, Eric, and Brandon.  They collectively contribute $500 each per year to cover expenses and build a reserve for future capital expenditures.
